news. news is anything that happens that might be noteworthy to someone. the term refers specifically to the information that conveys the noteworthy event. over the millennia, news has been reported in various ways—from word of mouth, to newspapers (pictured), to tv and the internet. this thing gets its value first from being timely. it retains value by virtue of becoming a part of history. in the spirit of creating a museum for virtually every thing, there is a museum of news—or newseum. |
